How the network is structured
The group runs a small number of flagship campuses that hold the most specialised programmes, and a larger number of tertiary hospitals doing the routine complex work well. Transplant, complex cardiac surgery, bone marrow transplant, epilepsy and skull base neurosurgery and advanced radiation therapy tend to concentrate at the flagships, particularly in Bengaluru.
The consequence is practical. If your case is straightforward tertiary work, choose the unit nearest to where you can stay and be looked after. If your case is unusual or high risk, ask to be routed to the campus with the volume, and ask for that in writing before you book accommodation in the wrong city.
What the group does well
Organ transplant is the clearest strength, with kidney, liver and bone marrow transplant programmes and the nephrology, hepatology and haematology services around them. Cardiac sciences and neurosciences are the next tier, followed by high-volume orthopaedics, oncology, urology and gastrointestinal surgery.
Records and referrals move within the group, which is genuinely useful for a patient who begins investigation in one city and continues treatment in another. Ask for your file to be shared internally rather than repeating imaging.

Which unit will treat me, and will any phase happen elsewhere? How many of my specific operation does that unit perform each year, and who is the surgeon? Is a consultant intensivist present overnight? And what does the written estimate assume about room category, intensive care days, implants and pre-admission tests?
